I've gone to Golden Heart for years for both mine, and my family's pets, but recently they've gotten lax in medicinal treatment & compassion. The building is often chaotic, loud, and scary for timid pets. When my cat was getting an IV, and was very scared, there was a vet tech who kept slamming drawers, grabbing treats for other patients, and going in and out of our exam room. I asked for them to stop, and they ignored me. My cat almost ripped his IV out. It felt like dealing with petulant entitled teenagers rather than veterinary technicians you are paying to assist your animal. Also, their Dr.Meisel is cold and awful. I was warned against taking my pet to her, but I thought her faults were exaggerated. I was a fool. When I brought my pet in for the stomach issues he was having, she acted like it trivial and almost too silly to waste her time on. She gave me probiotics without doing any tests and my pet only got worse. If you ABSOLUTELY have to go there, see Dr.Eberle. He is kind, and will actually look into what might be making your pet sick. Anyway, $2000 and transferring to a new vet, the problem was simply "he's become allergic to his food." Golden Heart just kept prescribing me more and more of their turbo marked up meds. It just sucks. I am giving it 2 stars rather than 1 because Eberle works there, and he is a decent veterinarian, even if he works in a dumpster fire.

I normally don’t give 5 stars in this case I will share the doctor was wonderful with my pit bull. The support staff as well took very good care of her. I RECOMMEND!!

We have been going to GHVS since 1998 and they have taken care of all our dogs and cats beautifully. I appreciate the care and practical advice we have received over the years. I trust Golden Heart Veterinary Services and thank them so much! Our pets (who are not the easiest characters) are now very comfortable with Drs. Eberle and Meisel, which is awesome!

Everyone was very helpful, Dr Bernie carefully looked at my dog to decide why he was shaking , and even trimmed his nails. Thankful it was nothing serious! I’d definitely recommend him and your clinic to anyone looking for a veterinarian .
